game over!!!!! =)

Well, hello everyone… here I am the last time because today was the last teaching practice that I did with Intermediate English I.
I arrived early to the classroom, I was sleepy but when I began preparing the stuff for the class, I felt better and with energy. =)
Today, I had to teach about comparatives and superlatives, so I prepared some adjectives, their comparative and superlative form. I cut the adjectives and I pasted them around the classroom so the students could read them and have an idea of what the class was about.
I began with a warm up which consisted in giving a piece of paper that had a short paragraph to each student. So, I gave time and they were reading that paragraph. After that, I asked them to stand up and make to lines. They had to tell the person in front about his or her paragraph. I think they liked the activity because they were trying to remember something they read.
After that, I began with the presentation, they did an exercise of the book, and later, I began asking the students if they knew something about adjectives.
The students began saying different adjectives and then, I asked them if they knew the comparative and superlative of each adjective they were saying. I wrote some examples of adjectives and the students were helping me. I explained the usage of the adjectives, the comparison and superlative form and the students got the explanation (as far as I know… jejeje)
After that, I wrote some sentences using the comparative and superlative form, and also the students were creating sentences with some adjectives that I said. The students were paying attention to my explanation and I think they understood it.
Finally, I gave to each student an adjective and I told them that they had to look for the comparative and superlative form of that adjective in the pieces of paper that were pasted around the classroom.
They stood up and looked for what I asked them to. After that, I began asking each student about his and her adjectives and they were saying them. Also, after they mentioned each adjective, they created sentences comparing things or people, and they did a good job!
I hope I got a good grade. I think I did a nice job in the explanation. I’m just missing the feedback because I couldn’t wait for it. I had to go.
So, I’ll see you in the next and last period!!! =)

  1. Elicia,

This is a nice topic to teach. You did a great job with these students, and we can see that in the reviews from your tutor.

    Congrats!
